Mode 3 is labelled "Landing" and deploys landing gear and turns on ship headlights. Mode 2 is labelled "Flight" and will switch my ship to analysis mode, retract hardpoints, set 2 power to systems and 4 to engines. Mode 1 has been labelled "Fight" and when I switch to it, it will put my ship into combat mode, deploy hardpoints, set power to 3 and a half weapons, 2 to engines and a half, to systems.
The uploader put together a quick tutorial on how to set the "Mode" wheel. I did find one youtube video that I found immensely helpful. Being someone that has zero experience with macros, I am simply overwhelmed. So I bought an X52 HOTAS for Elite, the other day and the programming software is way above me, on a tech-savvy level.
